Welcome to Chaircircles! These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chaircircles website and services ("Services"), provided by Umur Basar ("Chaircircles", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

  1. Company Details
    Chaircircles is operated by Umur Basar, currently based at 29 Lexington Avenue, Apt 1B, Brooklyn NY 11238. Upon the formation of a legal entity, these details may be updated. Users will receive an email notification for any updates to the Terms and Conditions.

  2. Service Description
    Chaircircles provides a scheduling tool for mental health professionals to create and manage group therapy sessions. Therapists can set up locations, pre-screening questions, availability, and group session details. Potential clients can view and request to join these groups through a public profile page.
    Important: Chaircircles does not verify the credentials of therapists. It is the responsibility of potential clients to independently verify the credentials and qualifications of therapists before joining any group therapy session.

  3. User Information
    Chaircircles primarily serves two types of users:

    • Therapists: Mental health professionals who create and manage group therapy sessions.

    • Potential Clients: Individuals seeking to join group therapy sessions.

    Chaircircles is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. If you are a minor, please do not use our Services. Chaircircles does not verify therapist credentials, and it is solely the responsibility of therapists to ensure they are qualified to offer therapy services.

  4. Subscription and Payment
    Currently, the use of Chaircircles is free. In the future, therapists will be charged $5 per month after publishing their first group. The first group publishing is free. Potential clients can use the platform at no charge.
    Notice: If pricing changes in the future, users will be notified via email at least 30 days in advance.

  5. User Conduct and Responsibilities
    Users agree to use Chaircircles in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations. Any misuse of the platform, including but not limited to fraudulent activities, harassment, impersonation, unauthorized use, or providing false credentials, may result in termination or suspension of access to the Services. Users are encouraged to report any inappropriate or suspicious activity through the contact information provided below.

  6. Data Privacy and Security
    We take data privacy and security seriously. Chaircircles collects the following user data:

    • Therapists: Phone number, email address, first name, last name.

    • Potential Clients: First name, last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, answers to pre-screening questions.

    All sensitive information is encrypted using 256-AES-GCM encryption and stored securely in MongoDB Atlas.
    Additional Information:

    • Chaircircles uses Firebase for user authentication.

    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is used to send out emails and calendar invites.

    • The application is hosted on Digital Ocean.

  7. Intellectual Property
    All content and data created or shared on Chaircircles remain the property of the respective users. By using our Services, you grant Chaircircles a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving our Services. If a user terminates their account, they may request that their content be removed from Chaircircles' systems by contacting us.

  8. Liability and Disclaimers
    Chaircircles provides its Services "as is" and "as available" without any warranties or guarantees. We do not assume any liability for the actions of users or the outcomes of therapy sessions arranged through our platform. Chaircircles is a tool to facilitate group therapy sessions and does not provide therapy services or medical advice. Users should use the Services at their own risk.

  9. Termination and Suspension
    We reserve the right to terminate or suspend any user's access to the Services at our discretion, including but not limited to cases of misuse or violation of these Terms. In the event of termination, user data may be retained for a reasonable period as required by law or to maintain operational records. Users may terminate their accounts at any time by contacting us at support@chaircircles.com.

  10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
    These Terms are governed by the laws of New York, USA. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the use of the Services will be resolved through the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brooklyn, New York. You agree that any suit arising from the Service must take place in a court located in Brooklyn, New York.
